Places to visit:

Coleton Fishacre and Greenway are two National Trust properties with a 30 minute drive, featuring an attractive coastal valley, gardens and a glorious woodland garden on the banks of the Dart estuary.

Kingsbridge Information Centre featuring a wealth of information on places to go and things to do. And a decent list of local restaurants.

The local beach guide. Information on all the local beaches nearby; water quality, sand type, facilities etc. Including Bigbury-on-Sea, Blackpool Sands, Challaborough and Salcombe and more.

Buckfast Abbey. One of the few monasteries active in Britain today. Open to visitors, with extensive grounds.

Berry Pomeroy and Dartmouth Castle. 15th and 14th century castles, administered by English Heritage. Heavy with mystery and romance.

Slapton Ley. A 214 hectare nature reserve featuring the largest natural lake in the south-west. A rare wetland enviornment providing an ideal breeding ground for a rich and varied wildlife.

South Milton Ley. A 162,000 square metre SSSI wetland hosting a variety of endagered birds including the Bearded Tit.

Water sports and activities:

Lushwind. An RYA accreditied training centre for various watersports including Windsurfing and Kayaking. Based at the attractive Blackpool sands.

South Sands Sailing. A Catamaran sailing school running a variety of course from the short to the more intensive. Sailing course for kids as well as adults.
